It appears Nikolas will be caught in a compromising position in Ava's hospital room and scramble to come up with an excuse. The police have yet to track down the person who stabbed Ava, which means the suspect is still on the loose. Nikolas also acted noticeably odd when he was questioned by Jordan (Tanisha Harper) and didn't mention his argument with Ava before she was attacked. Viewers are aware that Nikolas was furious when Ava told Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) that he slept with Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl).
